Newly-designated Philippine Coast Guard (PCG-Guimaras) station commander Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG) Christian Bryan Ignacio has vowed to focus on ensuring the safety of “fishermen and passenger and cargo vessels.”
“Magiging strict tayo and at the same time [understanding]. Maintindihan tayo, kasi hindi naman lahat ng bagay ay dinadaan sa ka-istriktuhan,” Ignacio said in an interview on IMT Conversations.
“There are times [that we have to apply] humanitarian considerations. Titingnan din natin ‘yung well-being nila or status in life nila, we can help them,” he added.
Ignacio is the former commander of the District Support Group in Palawan. He also became part of the Marine Environmental Protection Command (MEPCOM), a PCG unit.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old bachelor stole the attention of netizens with his good looks. Ignacio’s photo, which was first posted by Bombo Radyo-Iloilo reporter Roberto Gaquit Jr., went viral on Facebook, with thousands of likes and shares.
“Sinabi lang sa akin nga mga tao ko na nagviral (his photo). Kasi during that time naglilibot ako sa mga sub-station at walang signal doon, pagbalik ko doon na nga sinabi nila,” he said.
When asked about his relationship status, Ignacio answered: “Single po ako. ‘Pag wala na pong bagyo siguro at payapa na pwede naman (to mingle).”
“Kung may dumating, hindi naman hinahanap. Kung may dumating ma’am, andiyan naman,” he said.
But at the moment, Ignacio said: “Trabaho po muna tayo.”
One of the online viewers asked about Ignacio’s skincare routine. The PCG official shared: “Tubig lang tapos iwas alak. Tapos fruits, tapos gulay.”
Ignacio said he is from Makati but grew up in Cavite.Angelique Amira Jabian/IMT
