The Guimaras Provincial Government has further loosened its border and travel restrictions to spur economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Governor JC Rahman Nava issued on Tuesday, Nov. 29, an executive order (EO) “modifying the border control policy and travel regulations against COVID-19 in the province.”
“The present situation demands further adjustments on the protocols being imposed [in the province],”he said.
Under EO No. 102, all ports and wharves “may now be opened for operations for both cargo and passengers.”
“Passenger and RORO vessels may now be allowed to operate based on their Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC,” it stated.
Vaccination cards and health declaration forms “shall no longer be required provided that the inbound passenger is asymptomatic.”
Those who tested positive for the deadly virus “shall not be allowed entry or exit unless for medical referrals.”
“The municipal mayors are enjoined to effect the necessary issuances to complement the [EO], Nava said.
The province has reported minimal cases of COVID-19 since the start of the year. It is currently under Alert Level 1, the lowest status in the COVID-19 alert system.
As of Nov. 29, the province has a vaccination accomplishment of 96.20 percent.IMT
