Travel protocols in the island province of Guimaras now eases just in time for the highlights of the 2022 Manggahan Festival.

Governor Samuel Gumarin has released Executive Order No. 28 bearing new protocols as the province remains under Alert Level 1 until May 31.

Under the EO, returning residents and dwellers of Western Visayas are no longer required to present a COVID-19 vaccination card upon entry to Guimaras.

However, filling out of Health Declaration Forms and practice of Minimum Health Standards must be strictly observed.

The implementation of Inbound Pass and Outbound Resident Pass is likewise suspended, according to the Capitol media statement.

Meanwhile, those individuals who possess COVID-19 symptoms and those considered as suspect, probable, and confirmed COVID patients are not allowed to enter the province.

Unvaccinated non-residents coming from outside the region are also prohibited to come into the island province unless they could show a negative Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test result.

The EO also states that the “provincial government reserves the right to subject inbound travelers to screening tests such as the rapid antigen and RT-PCR tests whenever it deemed necessary.”

Data from the provincial government of Guimaras revealed that the province has not registered new cases of COVID-19 from May 5 until 18, 2022.JBG/Guimaras PIO/LML/PIA Iloilo
