Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, aware that President Rodrigo Duterte would always crave for work, revealed Sunday, June 19, that he asked the outgoing Chief Executive to be his legal consultant.
Go said the President has yet to decide on the numerous offers he has received.
Duterte will officially step down from office on June 30.
“Knowing the president, talagang hinahanap po ng kanyang katawan. Nasa DNA na po nya ang pagtatrabaho (he is really looking for something to do. It is in his DNA),” he said in an interview in Davao City where he witnessed the inauguration ceremony of Vice President-elect Sara Duterte.
“As a private citizen, asahan nyo po na andyan pa rin po sya nakatingin (you can expect that he will still be around, observing),” Go added.
Go assured the President and incoming Vice President share the same values of hard work and dedication as public servants.
“The public can expect the same support from me for the newly elected officials. If they will ask for my help, I will be very willing to do so,” he added.
President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. previously said he is “open” to making the elder Duterte the anti-drug czar of his administration.
President Duterte has repeatedly advised the Marcos administration to sustain the momentum of the war on illegal drugs.PNA
