The celebration of fiestas and festivals are now allowed in the province of Iloilo.

Under Executive Order (EO) No. 128, public events and gatherings involving crowds or large number of people are allowed starting Monday, June 1, provided that participants are limited to 50 percent of the venue or seating capacity and social distancing measures are observed.

“Persons shall be seated one meter apart, and seats and queue lines shall be marked accordingly for social distancing purposes,” the EO stated.

These gatherings also include the following:
◾commemorative programs, inaugurations and assemblies
◾socio-cultural activities
◾School/ academic institutions events
◾Conventions, seminar, workshops, and general membership meetings
◾Birthday, anniversary, wedding, and baptismal celebrations/ receptions
◾Cultural/art/ entertainment performances and exhibitions
◾Trade expositions and product promotions
◾Spectator sports activities, provided that, only individual and group outdoor exercises, including non-cpntact sports, shall be allowed with minimum public health standard
◾Family gatherings involving non-members of the household
◾Funeral and public viewing
◾Religious congregation

The EO, which enforces MGCQ over the entire province, was issued by Governor Arthur Defensor Jr . on Sunday, May 31.

It primarily aims to “sustain quarantine procedures and disease prevention and control measures against COVID-19.”

The province is under MGCQ, the lowest form of community quarantine, from June 1 until 15.IMT
