The Department of Health (DOH-6) on Wednesday, July 22, said Ilonggos are generally “compliant” with health measures implemented by the government to prevent being infected with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
According to DOH-6 Assistant Regional Director Dr. Ma. Julia Z. Villanueva, residents of Iloilo have been doing their share in the fight against COVID-19 by wearing face masks and practicing physical distancing outside their homes.
Iloilo is currently under MGCQ (modified general community quarantine), the lowest form of community quarantine.
The DOH-6 also commended offices and business establishments operating in Iloilo for complying with safety and sanitation protocols.
Villanueva said all malls installed markers for social distancing and put up hygiene stations with water and soap, tissue, and alcohol solution or sanitizing gel.
Shoppers or guests also undergo a temperature scan and step on the footbath.
Villanueva urged the public to continue observing the minimum health standards to stop the further spread of the new coronavirus.
As of July 22, Iloilo City has 15 active cases of COVID-19 while the province has 23 active cases.IMT
