Iloilo City has begun its preparations for the 2024 edition of the Dinagyang Festival, one of the grandest tourism events in the country.
Next year’s celebration of the world-renowned festival is set on January 12 to 28, according to the Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI).
In a press release, IFFI executive director Joyce Clavecillas said they have been conducting Dinagyang-related meetings and consultations with various stakeholders since June this year.
“We also met with the Department of Education (DepEd) and school principals who have expressed their enthusiasm to make come-back participation to the festival. All of these are being finalized,” she added.
The Dinagyang Festival 2024 is anchored on the theme, “Pagdayaw kay Señor Sto. Nino, Padayaw sang mga Ilonggo!”
The theme, Clavecillas explained, “encapsulates the Ilonggos’ unwavering faith and devotion to Señor Sto. Nino, as well as their being loud and proud of their culture, talents, food, and the city’s beauty among others, which can be experienced by visitors and make their hearts beat in Iloilo City.”IMT
