The Department of Education (DepEd-6) has requested the Schools Division of Iloilo to submit a report on “the alleged political rally” set inside the premises of a secondary school in Guimbal town.

DepEd-6 regional director Ramir Uytico made the request following a report by radio station RMN-Iloilo “pertaining to a tarpaulin that covered the Guimbal National High School Arch.”

The posting of the tarpaulin bearing the words “Guimbal Stadium” was allegedly “made to accommodate the rally within the school premises.”

Uytico gave Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roel F. Bermejo until 12 noon of Thursday, Feb. 24, to submit their report.

“We are still waiting for the response from Division of Iloilo,” DepEd-6 spokesperson Hernani Escullar, Jr. told IMT NEWS.

The tandem of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos (BBM) and vice presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio is scheduled to meet their supporters in Guimbal on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 24.

Under DepEd Order No. 048, s. 2018 and DepEd Order No. 031, s. 2019, political or campaign activities are prohibited inside school premises.IMT NEWS
