Parts of Iloilo being serviced by Metro Pacific Iloilo Water (MPIW) have been experiencing water supply interruptions since March 31.
The scheduled water interruptions from 5 a.m. to 11a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. will last until April 6.
MPIW issued the advisory during a meeting with Bureau of Fire Prevention (BFP), Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), City Engineer’s Office (CEO), and Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO), among others.
It informed all consumers that Flo Water Resources, one of its suppliers, will shut down their operation effective March 31 to April 4 due to maintenance.
Flo Water will perform water sampling activities they need to pass as a prerequisite for continued supply to MPIW.
From 5 a.m. to 11a.m., Jaro North and portion of Mandurriao, municipalities of Pavia, Santa Barbara, and Leganes will experience limited water supply.
From 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., districts of Molo, Jaro South, La Paz, and Arevalo, portion of Mandurriao, and City Proper will be affected.
In the absence of Flo Water, one of MPIW water bulk suppliers, Metro Iloilo Bulk Water, will continue to supply 45-50 million liters per day to MPIW to be distributed to consumers.
Local government units are requested to coordinate with MPIW regarding water use specifically during cases of fire.
A total of 30 tankers will be mobilized to ease the impact of the maintenance activity, and will be deployed to designated areas.
PSTMO head Jeck Conlu assured MPIW that their tankers are given clearance during truck ban schedules.
MPIW targets to return to normal operation on April 7.
