The number of crimes that occurred in Western Visayas went down by 28.42 percent this year compared to 2019.
From January 1 to December 29, 2020, the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) recorded 20,649 crime incidents, lower than the 28,914 incidents logged in the same period a year ago.
The Philippine National Police’s (PNP) regional office attributed the decline in crime volume to their continuous anti-criminality efforts amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
The PRO-6 assured that there would be no letup in the fight against criminality.
Early this month, Brigadier General Rolando Miranda was installed as the new director of the PRO-6. He replaced Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan.IMT
