The number of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Western Visayas is now more than 4,000.
The Department of Health (DOH-6) reported 180 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, Aug. 29.
The latest infections brought to 4,253 the total number of COVID-19 cases in the region.
Bacolod City reocrded the most number of new cases at 131, followed by Negros Occidental, 18; Iloilo City, 16; and Iloilo province, 5.
The DOH-6 also registered 107 new survivors and 6 new deaths, raising the region’s total recovery count and death toll to 2,239 and 66, respectively.
The newly recovered patients are from Negros Occidental (60), Iloilo City (26), Iloilo province (13), Bacolod City (5), Capiz (2), and Guimaras (1).
Meanwhile, the latest fatalities involved patients from Iloilo City (2), Iloilo province (2), and Bacolod City (2).IMT
