Three more confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were recorded in Western Visayas, raising the total number in the region to 52.
Based on a bulletin issued by the Department of Heath (DOH-6) on Monday, April 20, all the three COVID-19 patients are from Pandan, Antique.
The new cases include a 28-year-old female (facility quarantined), a 33-year-old female (facility quarantined), and a 32-year-old male (home quarantined).
Dr. Renilyn Reyes of the DOH-6 said the three are asymptomatic or have no symptoms of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
“They had close contact with the first COVID-19 patients in the town, a 69-year-old male,” she said.
There are now a total of nine infected patients in the province.
Of the COVID-19 cases in the region, 18 are from Iloilo province, 7 in Bacolod City, 6 each in Aklan and Iloilo City, 5 in Capiz, and 1 in Negros Occidental.
