The Cine Europa Festival in Iloilo will be held on July 7 to July 15, 2023 at the Cinematheque Center Iloilo.
In partnership with the European Union (EU) Delegation and Film Development Council of the Philippines, the Embassy of Ireland to the Philippines will open the event with a screening of the Irish film Roise and Frank starting at 6:30 P.M at the 74-seater Cinematheque Centre Iloilo located at the B&C Square Building in Solis Street.
Cine Europa is a month-long Film Festival that showcases European movies across the Philippines and is organized by the EU Delegation.
A press release from the Embassy of Ireland said EU Ambassador Luc Véron and the Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Ireland, Mr. Brian McCrohan, will welcome guests at a cocktail reception ahead of the screening.
Admission is free and the event is open to all members of the public – however spaces are limited and entry will be on a first-come basis.
Roise and Frank is a family-friendly comedy-drama about a recently widowed woman who believes her husband has been reincarnated as a stray dog. From this surreal premise, begins a beautiful journey about the importance of family and community. In the end, it is a warm-hearted, witty and uplifting tale of finding hope in the darkest of places.
The Embassy of Ireland opened in the Philippines in November 2021, this screening is an important landmark in reaching out to communities across the Philippines to share culture and build people-to-people connections.AAL/LAF/PIA6 Iloilo
