Hotshots from Centerphil Montessori Learning Center (CMLC) representing Janiuay town impressed the crowd in the hard court as they claimed their nine straight wins in the secondary boys’ basketball of the 3rd Iloilo Congressional District Sports Association (CDSA) Meet at the Cabatuan gym, Nov. 8.
The Centerphil SilverKnights easily dismantled Pototan in the gold medal match, 96-79. Lester Valn Paraico paced the winning team with 20 points despite being guarded all the time.
Justin Penar and Jhon Deo Sajonia also chipped in 15 baskets for the Andre Ticzon-mentored SilverKnights.
With the victory, the SilverKnights will advance to the Iloilo School Sports Council (ISSC) Meet, hoping to win the title. To recall, the team always ranked second and third for five years already. Now that they got the chance to stage a comeback again, they will prepare to get the crown this year.
En route to the finals, the SilverKnights defeated Calinog (128-103) and Maasin (108-44). IMT
