The bus conductor who was seen in a viral video having a heated exchange of words with a student has been suspended for 15 days without pay.
“Ginpaidalum na siya sa preventive suspension pagkakita namon sang amo to [nga video] kay indi gid siya nami,” Jade Marquez-Seballos, media relations officer of Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI), said in a radio interview.
“Indi gid kami namian nga makita ang amo to nga sitwasyon. Kasakit batyagon nga gahilibiun ang isa ka pasahero,” she added.
In the video, Lizavel Peñol Balbino claimed that she gave P500 to the conductor, but the latter insisted that he only received P100.
“Gindahu ko P500 plete ko paAjuy P71. Lampas na Banate antis ya ko tagaan kambyo. [Hambal niya] ‘piso lang day’, gintagaan ko man piso [tapos ang gin] dahu na sa akon P30. Tingala ko nga P30 lang nga dapat P430. Ginmunuhan ko siya P500 akon kwarta, hambal niya P100 lang,” she narrated.
The student took the bus from Anilao to Ajuy in Iloilo province on Monday morning, Nov. 14.
According Seballos, the conductor apologized and admitted that what he did was wrong.
She assured that the company will reach out to the family of Balbino to apologize.IMT
