More than 5,000 tourists visited the famous Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan this month.
The number of visitors recorded by the Malay Tourism Office through Caticlan as the port of entry reached 5,047.
Majority or 3,445 of these visitors came from the National Capital Region (NCR), followed by Western Visayas (607), CALABARZON (288), Central Visayas (60), Cordillera Administrative Region (41), and Bicol (38).
Other visitors came from Cagayan Valley (30), Eastern Visayas (28), Davao (27), Zamboanga (13), Northern Mindanao (11), MIMAROPA (7), BARMM (2), and CARAGA (1).
Of the total tourists, 4,787 belonged to the 13-59 age group, 166 were from the 0-12 age group, and 94 aged 60 years old and above.
A total of 2,651 visitors were males and 2,396 were females. They traveled by air (4255), land (590), and sea (202).IMT
