The Senate has approved on third and final reading the proposed measure seeking to establish the Iloilo City Hospital.
City Lone District Representative Julienne “Jamjam” Baronda, author of the House version of the bill, hailed the Senate approval of the measure.
“Our dream of enhancing the health programs and services for the Ilonggos is a step closer to reality,” she said.
“This is a victory for all Ilonggos! Rest assured that Team Gugma will work harder to realize our promise of hope,” Baronda added.
According to the lady lawmaker, the approved bill will be transmitted to the Office of the President for signing into law.
Baronda is hopeful that President Rodrigo Duterte will sign the bill before he steps down from office on June 30.
Once it becomes law, the city will receive funding from the national government for the construction of the Iloilo City Hospital, which was already approved by the Department of Health (DOH).IMT
