After series of clashes inside the court, Bacolod City National High School will represent in the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) 3×3 U-18 national finals, set to take place from Oct. 28 to 30 at Robinsons Place Manila.
The squad successfully booked the tickets to the national scene after winning the girls’ division of the SBP 3×3 U-18 regional finals at the Ateneo de Iloilo gym in Iloilo City following a 14-12 overtime victory over Colegio de la Purisima Concepción of Roxas City.
Kaye Pesquera, Shalimar Dublar, Hallyza Quiatchon, and Charity Grace Gicana made an impressive finishes for the Bacolod City team. This will be the second time that Pesquera, Dublar and Gicana.
Meanwhile, Central Philippine University (CPU) also captured the women’s division of the 4th Brother’s Cup Volleyball Collegiate Invitational after defeating University of St. La Salle (USLS) at the latter’s covered court in Bacolod City.
Aside from pocketing the coveted title, the team also picked up several individual awards including Shyrel Ambrocio winning Most Valuable Player and Best Setter, Ritchelle Amuan – Best Spiker, and Euna Gene Piosca – Best Libero.
The Tony Arnilla-mentored Golden Lions are comprised of Daniela Louise Eguico, Eunice Guevarra, Kaira Abello, Angolaye Ataza, Martha Mae Dizon, Glezel Anne Ledesma, Hannah Jane Magbanua, Arianne Nadine Patopaten, Monica Perez, and Virgie Grace Villaruel.IMT
