City to launch Sports Academy
Meanwhile, the Iloilo City Sports Office, through Executive Assistant for Sports Rudiver Jungco Sr., revealed that it is planning to create a sports academy
The proposed Iloilo Sports Academy will feature 18 sports for young Ilonggo aspirants. They will be trained the basics up to the advanced level of their chosen sports. Jungco said they are hoping to launch the academy by January 2020 and they’re prioritizing indigent players to avail the training program.
The Academy is open to all Ilonggos, but there will be a ratio between the indigent and the fortunate, for every eight indigent players there will be two well-equipped students that will join them. With regards to the quality of the training, the city will hire professional coaches to make sure the training is progressing. IMT
