After an entertaining basketball last month, Gametime Sports will bring another exciting tournament in Iloilo, this time, a volleyball match.

Ilonggos will be surely thrilled as Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles and Premier Volleyball League newcomer Akari Power Chargers are set to face each other in friendly games in Iloilo City and Bacolod City this September.

Gametime’s Rodolfo Go Villaruz said the Blue Eagles and the Power Chargers will first clash in Iloilo City on Sept. 17 before they take on each other in Bacolod City on Sept. 18.

Villaruz shared that they are still searching for the perfect venues that can cater more fans who want to cheer on their idols.

Coached by Oliver Almandro the blue shirts will be reinforced by Ilongga Roma Mae Doromal, Faith Nisperos, Vanessa Gandler, Sophia Ildefonso, Alexa Miner and Joan Narit. Negrense Beautiliza Lomocso will also join the games.

Meanwhile, Akari will have Ilongga Dani Ravena, Negrense Genevieve Casugod, Michelle Cobb, Lycha Ebon sisters Jhoanna and Jaja Maraguinot, Erika Raagas, Rachel Jorvina, Ezra Madrigal and national women’s volleyball team member Trisha Genesis. They will be coached by Jorge Edzon Souza de Brito.

The match will also be fitting for Akari’s Ravena, Jaja and Raagas as this will be their first time to battle against their alma mater Blue Eagles after playing for them during the UAAP Season 84 women’s volleyball.IMT Sports
