At least P110M needed to build new Oyungan bridge — Garin

At least P110 million is needed for the construction of a new bridge in Barangay Oyungan, Miagao, Iloilo, according to Mayor Richard Garin.

The Oyungan Bridge, the main link of Antique province of Iloilo, was damaged by Severe Tropical Storm “Paeng” last month.

In a media interview, Garin said a two-lane and 100-linear meter bridge would cost P110 million while a four-lane bridge would cost P200 million.

On Monday, Nov. 14, a steel bailey bridge was opened to light vehicles in replacement of the damaged Oyungan Bridge.

The temporary one-lane bridge installed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has a 10-ton vehicle limit.IMT
