More structures, mostly residential and commercial buildings, will rise in Iloilo City, data from the city government’s Office of the Building Official (OBO) showed.
As of April 16, OBO approved 655 new building permits out of 1,037 applications.
Engineer Mavi Gustilo said they are expecting to exceed the 2020 record of 950 approved permits.
The “increasing number of business permit releases,” according to Gustilo, “signifies that the city is progressive and that the business sector has confidence in governance and potentials.”
She stressed that OBO “strictly implements the no red tape policy.”
“This means the processing of permits and certificates are now streamlined or simplified,” said Gustilo.
“We are also making further studies improve the existing system of processing, and make it easier for our applicant,” she added.
OBO has implemented various innovations to speed up applicants’ transactions in five to 15 days.
Applicants for a building permit should submit duly accomplished forms, plans and other required documents.
Once verified, their papers will undergo final and detailed technical evaluation.
Then, secure the order of payment/billing statement together with the returned documents and plans if there are corrections to be made or complied after the final and detailed technical evaluation.
After that, return corrected or complied documents and plans together with official receipt.IMT
