The San Jose de Buenavista, the Antique’s capital town and center of commerce and business, extended the deadline for business tax payment until January 31, 2022.
The extension for deadline of tax payment was made possible through Municipal Ordinance 2022-01.
Mayor Elmer Untaran said that the business sector appealed for the extension due to some restrictions brought about by the increasing COVID-19 cases during the first two weeks of January.
Untaran cited the support of the Sangguniang Bayan for the passage of the said ordinance, giving business owners a chance to extend their payment of regulatory fees without surcharges and penalties.
Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) head Elsie Elizalde said in an interview that as of January 24, 2022, a total of 1,596 businesses were already issued business permits.
Of the total figure, 26 are new permittees and 1,570 are existing businesses. In 2021, a total of 2,050 business establishments were able to secure their License to operate in San Jose.
Elizalde assured that the Business-One-Stop-Shop of LGU San Jose is efficiently processing applications of business establishments.
However, she reminded the applicants to ensure that all requirements are complete so that permits will be processed and released within the day of submission.JBG/PSM/PIA-Antique
