Antique nears becoming a COVID-free province

The province of Antique is on the way to becoming free from the deadly coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to the Nov. 29 bulletin issued by the Department of Health (DOH-6), there was only one active case of the viral illness in the province.

Antique has logged a total of 78 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, the lowest in the whole Western Visayas region.

Of the figure, 76 have recovered and one has died.

On the other hand, Negros Occidental remained to have the highest number of infections with 5,675, followed by Bacolod City (5,384), Iloilo City (4,347), Iloilo province (2,639), Capiz (1,072), Aklan (288), and Guimaras (212).

All in all, the region registered 19,695 COVID-19 cases, of which 17,330 are recoveries, 121 are fatalities and 1,812 are considered “active”.IMT
