The Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) in Valderrama, Antique recently availed projects amounting to P2 million from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and other agencies as well as local government units in a turnover ceremony recently at the town’s Multi-Purpose Center.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Florentino D. Siladan said that four ARCs received the projects with the hope that the assistance could boost farm productivity and further improve their agri-business ventures.
He emphasized the vital role of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) in managing the projects well and ensuring sustainability that could lead to community empowerment.
Four ARBOs in Valderrama received the projects with a total of 817 beneficiaries.
The Katilingban Kang Mangunguma sa Pandanan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (KAMPA MPC) is a recipient of Village Level Farm Productivity project with a budget allocation of P300,000 and an additional P400,000 from the Municipal Government of Valderrama intended to enhance their peanut processing center and marketing of their products.

The Katilingban Kang Mangunguma sa Pandanan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (KAMPA MPC) is a recipient of Village Level Farm Productivity project with a budget allocation of P300,000 and an additional P400,000 from the Municipal Government of Valderrama intended to enhance their peanut processing center and marketing of their products.
The Buluangan 1 Multi-purpose Cooperative also availed of the Marketing Transport Facility (Mini Delivery Truck) amounting to P600,000 from DAR.
Likewise, the Tigmamale Agrarian Reform Cooperative is a recipient of the Agriculture and Agri-Business Development Project, in which the group received 1 million worth of livelihood projects from the Department of Labor and Employment and P250,000 capability building programs from DAR.
The Agrarian Reform beneficiaries composing the association Katilingban kang mga Magagmay nga Mangunguma sa Buluangan 2, Valderrama also received the greenhouse project funded by the DAR under its Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project for Sustainable Livelihood in the amount of P250,000.
Siladan said that the support services, financial assistance, training, and other programs were channeled to the ARC through the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations so they could have legal personality to engage with various services of government.
DAR is supporting 36 ARBOs in Antique, of which some are cooperatives, farmers’ associations, producers’ associations, women’s groups, and irrigators associations.
Siladan lauded the support of Mayor Mary Joyce Roquero of Valderrama in the undertakings of the Agrarian Reform Communities.
