All public and private cemeteries, memorial parks, columbaria and similar places in Iloilo City will be closed to the general public from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2.
This is in compliance with the guidelines issued by the National Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) relative to the observance of Fiesta Minatay or All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
City Mayor Jerry Treñas initially allowed residents who are inoculated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) to go to cemeteries during Fiesta Minatay.
Despite the IATF order, the city government will still allow flower vendors to sell from Oct. 25 to 28 in designated places that include Jaro Plaza, Arevalo Plaza, Molo Plaza, Lapaz Plaza, Mandurriao Plaza, and along Aldeguer Street.
The vendors must secure special permits from the Business Permits and Licensing Division (BPLD) and have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
They will be required to observe health protocols such as wearing of face masks and face shields and/or eye protector, frequent handwashing and physical distancing.IMT
