The damage caused by Typhoon Agaton to the agriculture sector in Western Visayas has so far reached more than P111 million.

Based on data from the Department of Agriculture (DA-6), floods caused by the weather disturbance affected 3, 971 farmers as of April 13.

These farmers from Iloilo (826), Capiz (2,990) and Antique (155) produce rice, corn, and high-value crops, among others.

Volume of production loss was estimated at 7,081.53 metric tons amounting to P111, 106, 895.36.

Capiz incurred the biggest losses worth P81, 834,975; followed by Iloilo P25, 144,521.50; and Antique with P4, 126,398.86.IMT
