The province of Iloilo logged 396 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, Feb. 6, latest data from the Department of Health (DOH-6) showed.

The additional infections brought the province’s total case count to 5,455, the highest in the whole Western Visayas.

Since the start of the pandemic, the province recorded 39,026 cases, of which 34,235 have recovered and 1,162 have died.

Negros Occidental has the second-highest active cases in the region with 4,659, followed by Iloilo City (4,050), Bacolod City (2,041), Capiz (1,942), Antique (1,859), Aklan (1,589), and Guimaras (185).

All in all, the region has 19,780 active cases of the viral disease.IMT
