The Iloilo Provincial Capitol will remain open to people who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. said he is not keen on implementing the “no vaccination, no entry” policy at the Capitol.

The building, according to Defensor, is not considered a “high-risk” establishment based on the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

“If you participate in a high-risk activity or enter a high-risk establishment, kinanglan bakunado ka and the Capitol is not considered [high risk for COVID-19],” the governor said.

“Nga-a? Kay we can regulate the distancing here. Amo ni nakakuha kita ‘Safety Seal’ from the DILG and other government agencies,” Defensor added.

The province, which is currently under Alert Level 3, has a total of 36,178 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Jan. 20. Of the figure 33,174 have recovered, 1,098 have died and 1,891 are active cases.IMT
