Dinagyang 2020 Pamukaw will feature tribes based in Iloilo City barangays.
Nine barangay-based tribes are set to take part in the event on Saturday, December 14.
Pamukaw (to awaken), which signals the beginning of the Dinagyang season, will run from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
A short program will be held at the City Hall grounds.
The tribes will perform in the following areas simultaneously:
Arevalo Plaza – Tribu Molave
Mandurriao Plaza – Familia Sagrada
Molo Plaza – Tribu Parianon
Jaro Plaza – Tribu Kanyao
Lapaz Plaza – Tribu Aninipay
Plaza Libertad – Tribu Hamili and Sagasa
Sunburst Park – Tribu Panaad
SM City – Tribu Angola
“As we bring back Pamukaw, one of our traditions that have contributed a lot in setting the mood of every Ilonggo towards the most-awaited Iloilo Dinagyang 2020, let us all be prepared and excited,” said City Mayor Jerry Treñas.
The nine tribes will also participate in “Dagyang sa Calle Real” on Jan.25, 2020.
“Dagyang sa Calle Real” is one of the new activities of the world-famous festival.
