Nine pregnant women in Iloilo City have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This was disclosed by COVID-19 Team spokesperson Jeck Conlu on Monday, Sept. 14.

According to Conlu, the pregnant women underwent RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction) testing on Sept. 11 and their results came out yesterday, Sept. 13.

The infected pregnant patients involved the following:

▪21-year-old female from Taft North Mandurriao
▪18-year-old female from Taft North, Mandurriao
▪21-year-old female from Bitoon, Jaro
▪30-year-old female from Ingore, Lapaz
▪22-year-old female from Rizal Pala-Pala II, City Proper
▪27-year-old female from Don Esteban, Lapuz
▪23-year-old from MH Del Pilar, Jaro
▪33-year-old female from San Isidro, Jaro
▪38-year-old female from Ingore, La Paz

They are currently under home quarantine.

Conlu said pregnant women are among those in top priority in testing for COVID-19.

As of Sept. 13, the city government recorded 1,718 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 239 are active cases.IMT
