There are mayoral and vice mayoral candidates in the province of Iloilo who are considered sure winners in the May 9 elections.

Based on data from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), eight candidates for mayor, and nine candidates for vice mayor have no opponents.

In the mayoral race, Jett Roxas (Ajuy), Kenneth Alfeche (Alimodian), Suzette Mamon (Badiangan), Nielo Tupas (Barotac Viejo), Mark Palabrica (Bingawan), Janette Colada (Guimbal), Liecel Seville (New Lucena), and Trixie Fernandez (San Enrique) are running unchallenged.

On the other hand, Robert Villaruz (Ajuy), Manuel Ganzon (Balasan), Arnel Betita (Carles), Jesry Palmares (Passi City), Mary Ann Lujan (Guimbal), Lyle Bartolome (Leganes), John Michael Defensor (Mina), Bonifacio Salapantan (San Miguel), and Leo Cesar Taypen (Tubungan) are vying for the vice mayoral post uncontested.

These unopposed candidates, according to the COMELEC, need only one vote in order to be declared winners.
