Instead of pushing through with her birthday celebration, a seven-year-old girl decided to use the money intended for her party to buy face masks for frontliners in Iloilo City.

Anthea Janelle, who was born in China but now resides in the city, handed over 5,000 face masks to Mayor Jerry Treñas on Dec. 11.

Treñas praised the young donor, who will turn eight on Dec. 21, for her kindness and compassion.

“At a young age, she understands the value of compassion, and how it will help build a better city for all,” the mayor said.

“I wish her a happy birthday, and may she remember that the gift she provided for us will come a long way. I am very proud of you,” Treñas added.IMT
