Seven bars operating along Benigno S. Aquino Jr. Avenue or Diversion Road in Madurriao district, Iloilo City were shut down on Friday afternoon, Aug. 4.
City Mayor Jerry Treñas ordered the closure of Red Cups Lounge, Pass Out, Beer Boss, Bar Cotto, 5000 By: Arthurs Liquor & Wine, Whats Up? and Hidden Bar.
These bars, according to the city government’s Business Process and Licensing Office (BPLO), violated Regulation Ordinance 2007-016, or the “The Local Revenue Code of Iloilo City.”
“They were found to be operating without business permits, occupancy permits, and building permits,” said BPLO head Norman Tabud.
The closure order will remain in effect until the seven business establishments get the necessary permits from the city government, he added.IMT
