Six sporting events will entertain the Ilonggos virtually as traditional sports competitions in line with Iloilo City’s celebration of its 84th Charter Day kick off next week.
The annual sports tournaments will go virtual this year because of the threat of COVID-19. The games to be played online are arnis, skateboarding BMX, taekwondo, chess, and E-sports.
Executive Assistant for Youth and Sports Rudiver Jungco, Sr. said they want to give entertainment to the Ilonggos even at the comfort of their homes.
Three events will be staged on Aug. 20. These are Virtual Arnis “Anyo” Competition, Virtual Skateboarding Competition (firing line, skateboarding photo contest), and Virtual BMX Competition.
On Aug. 25, there will be Virtual Taekwondo Speedkicking Tournament, Online Chess Tournament, and Esports Festival Finals.
