6 Iloilo City medical technologists infected with coronavirus

Six medical technologists (MedTechs) of the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) Sub-National Laboratory in Iloilo City have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). 

Dr. Joseph Dean Nicolo, WVMC chief, said the infected MedTechs are currently confined in their hospital where they are being monitored closely.

To give way to decontamination, the hospital management decided to close the WVMC Integrated Laboratory on Tuesday, Aug. 11 until Friday, Aug. 14.

WVMC is the first hospital in the Western Visayas region to be accredited by the Department of Health (DOH-6) as a testing center for COVID-19.IMT
