The province of Iloilo recorded a total of 50 suicide cases from January 1 to August 13 this year.
Cabatuan, Estancia, and Passi City topped the list with four cases each, data from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) showed.
Mina has the second most number of cases with three and followed by Calinog, Anilao, Dumangas, Igbaras, Miagao, Oton, San Dionisio, and Sara with two each.
Alimodian, Badiangan, Balasan, Banate, Barotac Viejo, Batad, Bingawan, Concepcion, Guimbal, Lemery, Leon, Maasin, San Enrique, San Rafael, Sta. Barbara, Tigbauan, and Tubungan have one case each.
IPPO cited “depression”, “family problem”, and “heartaches” as the primary causes of suicide.IMT
