A Chinese mother and her two children in Banate town, Iloilo province have been placed under monitored self-quarantine at home.
Mayor Carlos Cabangal, in a radio interview, said he advised the family to stay inside their house.
The three who traveled to China for vacation have been residing and running a business in the town for years.
Cabangal said the three went to Dr. Venus Banias for medical check-ups on Friday, Jan. 31.
They experienced fever, cough, and runny nose, according to the mayor.
Cabangal said he ordered the temporary closure of the family’s business to protect their workers and customers.
Dr. Jane Juanico of the Department of Health-Center for Health Development in Western Visayas said they are aware about the Chinese family in Banate.IMT
