A total of 25 suicide cases were recorded in the province of Iloilo from January 1 to April 5 this year.
The figure was based on data from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).
The recent suicide cases involved a minor and a mother.
A 14-year-old girl from Barangay Maringyan, Miagao allegedly hanged herself to death inside their house on Sunday, April 3.
She was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
On the same day, a 26-year-old single mother from Barangay Bololacao, New Lucena was found dead hanging inside their house.
Last year, the IPPO logged 98 suicide cases, higher compared to 2020’s 91 cases.IMT
