Twenty-four business establishments in Iloilo City were ordered closed for defying the liquor ban and for failing to secure permits to operate.

Mayor Jerry Trenas has a standing order that prohibits establishments from serving alcoholic beverages during the GCQ (general community quarantine) period.

“It is with a heavy heart that I made the decision, but no one is above the law, and there is a great need of everyone’s cooperation in order for us to win against COVID-19,” he said in a statement.

The city government served closure orders on the following:

– Seventy N Coffee Plus Drinkery Restaurant

– Daff Resto Bar

– On Tah Numtah

– Wellken’s Beach Resort

– Kanto Bistro Food Park

– Linda’s Abacajin Beach Resort, Inc.

– Ron Ron Inn

– MM’s Beach Resort

– Brewery Gastro Pub

– Lechonera De Ilongga Foodhaus

– District 1422

– X Cue Billiards

– Kwennel Resto Bar

– Lannai Grills

– Miyong’s

– Pigadong Sosyal

– Kap’s Resto

– Happy Touch KTV

– Ciela Resto KTV Bar

– El Calle Resto

These establishments violated the liquor ban.

“In view of the reported incidents involving resto bars, cafés, and restaurants violating the rule against serving of liquor and the placement of barriers on the tables, the COVID-19 Team will study the possibility of strengthening the health protocols in the city and/or the reimposition of curfew in the city,” said Trenas

The city government also shut down Hungry Belly, Little Farmers Coffee Brim, Mang Tinapay, and Love & Kisses Pizza for operating without permits.IMT
