Senator Imee Marcos is giving financial assistance to 2,000 underprivileged students of West Visayas State University (WVSU) through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

According to WVSU Office of Student Affairs (OSA) director Nancy Surmieda, they have already identified beneficiaries who will receive a one-time cash assistance worth P5,000.

She said the list of beneficiaries will be submitted to Marcos’ office once the requirements are complied with by the selected students.

OSA prioritized those students who belong to low-income families and are not recepients of any scholarship program.

The WVSU Main Campus is located at La Paz district in Iloilo City. It has external campuses in the towns of Calinog, Lambunao, Janiuay, Pototan in Iloilo province and Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental.IMT
