Two police officers, a social worker, and a locally stranded individual (LSI) are the latest coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients in Iloilo.

Their positive test results were confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH-6) on Tuesday, June 16.

The two police officers, a 32-year-old male from La Paz district in Iloilo City and a 22-year-old male from Lambunao town in Iloilo province, are assigned at the Mandurriao Police Station.

They are tasked to secure the Western Visayas Medical Center, a COVID-19 dedicated hospital, according to Mayor Jerry Treñas.

On the other hand, the infected social worker is a 30-year-old male from Igbaras. He is the second COVID-19 case in the town.

The patient is one of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) personnel.

He was among those who underwent COVID-19 testing conducted in Igbaras on June 1 after one of the town’s councilors tested positive for the disease.

According to the DOH-6, the new case in Igbaras is a local transmission.

The coronavirus-positive LSI, meanwhile, is a is a 50-year-old male from Mandurriao district in Iloilo City.

All the four new patients are asymptomatic or have not manifested any symptom of COVID-19. They are currently staying at a quarantine facility in the city.

Iloilo, as of June 16, has 43 confirmed COVID-19 cases, of which 23 are in the city while 20 are in the province.

The total cases includes 34 recoveries and five deaths. IMT
