Two Ilongga healthcare workers abroad died due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) while performing their duties.
Divina Amo-Accad, a native of Alimodian town in Iloilo province, succumbed to the viral disease.
The 72-year-old nurse was supposed to retire this year. She worked at John D. Dingell Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Detroit, Michigan, USA.
Accad was the the first healthcare worker who passed away due to COVID-19 in the state of Michigan.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Central Philippone University (CPU) in 1969.
Another fallen Ilonggo healthcare worker was a 50-year-old nurse at St. Charles Hospital, Ladbroke Grove, West London, United Kingdom.
Gatinao, a resident of Barangay Arguelles, Jaro district in Iloilo City, took her nursing degree at West Visayas State University (WVSU).IMT
