Two bettors became instant millionaires after winning the P34.8 million jackpot of the Lotto 6/42, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said Friday, July 8.
In an advisory, the PCSO said the bettors guessed the winning combination 09-10-42-08-13-41 from Thursday night’s draw, with total prize money of P34,838,186.
The winning tickets were bought by two bettors in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro and Tanay, Rizal.
The bettor can claim the check at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City upon presentation of the winning ticket and two identification cards.
Lotto winnings of over P10,000 shall be subject to a 20-percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.
A total of 88 won P24,000 each for guessing five out of the six winning digits; 3,286 will get P800 each for four correct digits, and 48,934 will settle for P20 each for three correct digits.
Prizes not claimed within a year shall be forfeited.
The 6/42 Lotto is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
This is the first time this month that a bettor bagged the jackpot prize of the government’s lottery games.
Meanwhile, the Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot is estimated to climb up to a whopping P400 million by the next draw on Saturday night.
PCSO said there was again no jackpot winner in the last Grandlotto 6/55draw last Wednesday which yielded a winning combination of 49-06-26-55-03-14 and which carried a jackpot of exactly P367,534,100.
However, PCSO said 67 bettors came very close to hitting the jackpot, correctly guessing five of the six digit winning combination, and winning the second prize of P100,000.
The Grand Lotto is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
The PCSO urged the public to patronize its games to generate more funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities.
Through its mandatory contributions, the agency said it does not only help individuals in need of medical assistance but also provides funds to government institutions.PNA
