The province of Iloilo recorded 21 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported on Sunday, Nov. 8.
These additional cases are from 12 towns, namely Guimbal (4), Passi City (3), Oton (3), Tigbauan (2), Banate (2), Pavia (1), Janiuay (1), New Lucena (1), Alimodian (1), Pototan (1), Barotac Viejo (1), and Balasan (1).
Majority or 18 of these new infections are asymptomatic or have not manifested symptoms of COVID-19.
The province’s total caseload now stands at 2,360, of which 68% or 1,605 have recovered, 3% or 60 have died and 29% or are considered “active.”
Indigenous or local cases make up 76% (1,798) of the total infection count and the rest are classified as locally stranded individuals (LSIs), returning overseas workers (ROFs), and authorized persons outside of residence (APORs).
The town of Oton accounted for the most number of COVID-19 cases in the province at 254, followed by Pavia with 223; Passi City, 167; Santa Barbara, 103, Tigbauan, 92; Barotac Viejo, 80; San Joaquin, 77; and Lambunao 76.
The entire province is currently under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), the lowest form of lockdown.IMT
